Useless User Interfaces

You know, I really have no idea what these guy thought they were doing when they created this user interface. I headed over there to see the 100 WiFi Rabbit Orchestra, and was thoroughly annoyed by the fact that the navigation actively tries to get out of your way.

This is the kind of stuff that gives Flash a bad name. Hopefully the soon-to-come widespread proliferation of Flex will be lead by programmers who avoid such meaningless bunk.

I gave up on trying to find the orchestra. I was hoping for some video.

I’m most angered by “web site design” firms whose own sites stink. Like:
line design graphics

I love the large blank frame and the email us link labeled “E-mail:
E-mail us by clicking here!” (insert clip of Moe hitting Curly with 2×4 here)

My favorite of their ‘portfolio’?
pretty glass (click on the framed nav link near the bottom to open in new window – can’t miss it…it’s in 900 pt. font) It has hilariously placed examples as rollovers that change the picture and description (under the picture). Feel free to try and move the mouse from an interior picture to the scroll bar to see the description without mousing over another picture. Good eye/hand practice.

Thanks Brian. That’s a pretty classic example of why the late nineties should never be repeated again.

I’m not getting the scroll bar for the description (maybe their code doesn’t work in Safari), but based upon the rest of the UI I’m pretty sure it’s atrocious from a usability perspective… :)
