I imagine there is a system event of some kind that would be triggered when a new display is connected, so perhaps with a little Objective-C hook you can fire your script as necessary?</description>

		<description>This is a *great* script.  Having very similar problems with attaching and detaching external displays to my Macbook, I was hoping to do something like this for the assorted Finder windows that I have in any of 6 (2 rows, 3 columns) Spaces.  

Do you know if this will respect the position of the iChat (or in my case Finder) windows across multiple spaces?

I think the ideal thing would be for OS X to put things back in the proper monitor and in the proper space depending on the connection of the monitor.  That currently not being the case, it would be great to have a script like this run automatically before and after sleep to determine where all windows should go - but I think that would be well beyond my abilities.
